Jennifer Turano, O.D., FAAO
Dr. Turano graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Photographic Communications from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. It was during her career as an ophthalmic photographer that she developed a passion for eye care. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia PA. During this time Dr. Turano achieved clinical honors focusing on ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and low vision rehabilitation. In 2015 Dr. Turano was awarded the Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care by the American Optometric Foundation. Dr. Turano completed her residency training in ocular disease at the Wilmington Delaware Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is passionate about treatment and management of ocular disease and fitting specialty contact lenses including multifocal, rigid gas permeable, and scleral lenses. In 2020 Dr. Turano was awarded the distinction of fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, and the Delaware Optometric Association. In her spare time, Dr. Turano enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, running, and cooking.
